I wonder why everyone is talking going green, when all I hear about is recycle this and reducing energy use. One of the facts, either being hushed or not talked about at all, is the effect poisonous chemicals are having on Global warming and on health in general. The saturation level of, said chemicals are creating hazards in many forms. From evaporation into the air, to the run off into the waterways and aquaphor. Could this be the real cause of all the bad weather we are having? Health risks are even worse, from allergies, asthma, to adult and childhood cancers. No one seems to want to address the adverse effects on the public or the environment. Well, I think it is time someone did. I can’t believe how many public toxic exposures I see everyday, and no one is figuring it out. I witnessed a city worker using round up on sidewalk cracks. How many unsuspecting citizens walk in that? Check out how many poison in the grass placards are in grassy areas around almost every shopping mall, hospitals and clinics, hotels and neighborhood lawns. No one pays attention to them. The towering displays of poisons on shelves inside our shopping centers are a hazmat situation waiting to happen and if you choose to pay attention to where those displays are located in stores. Like the garden center entrance is almost always next to the Pharmacy ( thought we were there to get items to get well, not be exposed to health hazards), or did you ever wonder why the bottles of poison are on one shelf and Children’s toys or school supplies on the back side of it, (what is the first thing small children do with a new toy?) Most put the box in their mouth. How many toxins do you think are on it? If you can smell the chemicals in the air in the shopping area, you have already been exposed. Think about how rampant childhood cancers have become and things like A.D.D. in the past 15 to 20 years. Do you let your children and pets play on the grass, as recommended, say 24 hours after the grass in your own yard has been treated with poisons. Wonder how exposed they really have become? Did you ever hear of pets dying of Cancer back in the day?  Do you know how long it takes some of these chemicals to break down in the environment? Some of these chemicals can change into other more toxic forms with exposure to heat from the sun, mixing of chemicals can occur because no one knows what the neighbor next door has used or how much. You can start ending up with toxic threats no bad guy ever could fathom. Did I mention we are willingly doing this to ourselves. Not to mention how toxic the food we eat has become. What non-organic farmers have contributed to Global warming is probably worse that the fuel emissions. Do you ever wonder what amount of the toxic chemicals used to grow our food saturates the fruits and vegetables of that harvest or how much of it we consume? I am sure that number is staggering.  But we never hear about it. Why? Money, Billions the chemical companies make each year. Good incentive, but at what cost?  The fact that I see people in shopping centers all the time with Food in the same shopping cart with huge bags or bottles of poison tells me people don’t get it. It boggles my mind, but I must be the only person on the planet. I wonder how toxic those peoples cupboards and refrigerators are if they put that food away without washing off the packing of their groceries. Do you know who put poison in the shopping cart you use, that you just put your infant and food in?  Do people think grocery packaging is armor plated? Or their children?  I hear all the time this product is wrapped. Yeah, people in cardboard or plastic. All pourous and that means it abourbs what is around it. Just like our skin, which I have heard people say they disbelieve also. I once saw a couple with a shopping cart full of bagged lawn poisons, and bottles of Roundup. Bet you can’t guess what else was in their cart on top of those toxic chemicals. Their toddler child, sucking on the bottle top of the roundup. Everytime I see things like this my hair does a slow curl, so to speak. Below you will find some links to sites that will back up much of what I have said, and for those of you who still think using these poisons is okay, I hope you finally get the fact they are toxic and also have a negative impact on everything around us. I hope this information saves others from suffering as I have. My new motto is: “Poison by any name, Pesticide, Herbicide, Insecticide is still just Poison.” Did you notice anything these three things have in common, “icide”? Guess what other word has that in it, Genicide. Look that up in the dictionary if you don’t know what it means.

 Make everyday an Earth, S.P.A. day and “Stop Poisoning American.” I think we should all adopt that motto.
