regarding if the drinking law should be lowered to 18

I feel that if the kids that feel that they can take on the responsbility of the military then they should be allowed to drink at 18. The military has serious strict rules on their own and i am pretty sure that they can and will come up for more regarding this issue. If the kids decide well okay i am going to join just so i can drink at a earlier age, are mostly likely the ones that will just flunk right out of bootcamp anyhow. The kids that i see now a days running around in high school and through town do not seem like they can handle the responsbility of it at 18. The ones that i see that are already planning for the military and know what they are getting into are showing that they can handle everything that comes there way. I am just curious on  how people feel about all this?

When I joined the military in 85, the general consensus of the public was that if you are old enough to die for your country, you were old enough to drink in your country.

It was best to keep the alcohol on the base for the 18-20 year old drinking and it should stay that way.  Military ID should allow a person to drink on the base at 18.

Kids might be able to take on the military, but Not Drinking. I feel that the Drinking Age should not be lowered at all, if anything I think it should be raised to 23 or 24.

I myself do not think the law should be lowered if anything raised. It is a mind alternating durg that makes them totally irresponsable. Yes 18 year olds can join the service and fight for our country and some loose there lives which sadens me but they joined for some reason or another. There is alot of people teens young adults and adults dying on a daily basis from alcohol and drugs. Both mind alternating. If you want to see for your self visit www.buzznot.com Example of one just added to our site of a 21 year old driving drunk on 12/30/07 the wrong way on a highway in ohio. He hit the Griffin's family van and killed a mother, her 2 month old daughter, 7 year old daughter, 10 year old daughter and another 10 year old step daughter. Also injured 3 others in that family that night.
If a 21 year old can cause this much heartace for this family can we image what will happen when 18 year olds are drinking legally. We really need to look closser at stiffining the laws and raising the limit!! Lets try saving lives not sending more to heaven....
