Youth of the Beaches Art Guild announces auditions for Suessical the Musical, Saturday June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, with call backs 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Fletcher High School Auditorium. Ages 9-18, everyone gets a part! Prepare a song, bring picture and resume. An accompanist will be provided. $50 application fee. 6-week summer theatre program, June 16

Youth of the Beaches Arts Guild (Y- BAG) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1981 and is sponsored by the Jacksonville Beach Recreation Department. The Guild’s aim is to encourage, instruct, and guide youth, from all parts of the city that express an interest in the performing arts. In addition to providing youth with an understanding of teamwork, strength, and a sense of self, the group produces a top-notch musical at the conclusion of the six-week program. Some of the shows performed over the past 26 years have included "Little Shop of Horrors", "Music Man", "Oklahoma", "Annie", "The Wiz", "Gypsy", "The King and I"," Anything Goes", and, "West Side Story".
Our board of directors is comprised of member parents and volunteers who donate long hours to provide this theatrical experience to our community. The Youth of the Beaches Arts Guild is very pleased to announce that the Directorial Staff is comprised of alumni from the program. Brian Gore, a recent graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia is serving as Director and Choreographer. Bryant Miano is returning for his fourth season, this year as Musical Director. To encourage further learning opportunities, the program offers an apprentice program where members are selected to assist the directors and technical staff and awards an Educational Scholarship each year to participating members.

Brian Gore is returning to directed YBAG’s 2008 summer production of Suessical the Musical.
