Warm Days Ahead... "The Longest Keyboard Playing Marathon by an Individual"... Successful "Crafternoon"

Beautiful stretch of weather to continue through midweek with warm afternoon highs near 80 degrees.  An isolated shower will be possible Wed. afternoon, but the next best chance for showers will be Thu. afternoon-night as a fast-moving cold front rolls through the area.  The front won't bring a lot of rain & what does fall will be scattered, but temps. will drop noticeably Fri. with highs struggling to reach 70.  Yet another nice weekend appears to be on the way as our next storm system looks to hold off until early next week.  High clouds could be on the increase by later Sun., but it's looking like the bulk of the rain won't arrive 'til Mon. or so.  Next week continues to look active across much of the country -- not good news since there will be lots of travelers -- T'giving is a week from Thu.!
So local weather "highlights" this week:
-- Warm through Thu.
-- Winds pick up Thu. with a few afternoon/evening showers (but meager rainfall amounts)
-- Cool-down arrives by Fri. with a cool but nice weekend.
-- Stronger -- & potentially wetter -- storm system arrives early next week.

I spent this afternoon on the Westside at Teresa's Piano Gallery (off Blanding Blvd. just north of I-295).  My weather live shots were centered around Pat Jones who is trying to break the Guinness World Record for "The Longest Keyboard Playing Marathon by an Individual".  The current record is 64 hours set last year by some Charles Brunner.  Pat will try to play -- essentially uninterrupted -- until 7:30pm Thu.!  She's playing Gospel music & plays "by ear" -- she doesn't read notes, in other words!  When I looked at her music book, it was all words but no notes.  Pretty amazing.  And when you're trying to break a Guinness record, there are lots of rules that have to followed:
GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS requirements for the "Longest Keyboard Playing Marathon by an Individual":

Ø 5 minute break after each hour allowed ( breaks can be accumulated if not taken)

Ø Must begin playing again within 30 seconds after each song

Ø Only actual time playing counts toward record (breaks excluded)

Ø All songs must last more than 2 minutes

Ø All songs must be recognizable songs (no improvisation)

Ø No song can be repeated within 4 hours

Ø Qualified medical personnel must be present at all times

Ø A recorder must document each segment in accordance with Guinness requirements

Ø A video recording must be made of the entire marathon

Ø No mechanical or electrical accompanying instruments/devices allowed

"Crafternoon" -- a fundraiser for The Children's Home Society -- was a huge success Sat. at Jarboe Park, Neptune Beach.  A couple of photos are below.  We even had a gentleman stop by & offer 2 stuffed teddy bears that can play cassette tapes as a donation which I promptly auctioned off on the spot raising $185.  My kids "crafted" just about nonstop for 5 hours!
