Bone Dry to Turn Wetter..."Cat. 5 Netting System"...A 4-Year Old's Conversation

Sing the song: "How dry I am...."  Our remarkably dry atmosphere helped out by upper level high pressure is combining with warm temps. aloft to put a lid on any & all shower & thunderstorm development.  Check out this morning sounding from our Jax N.W.S.:

The green line is moisture (dew points), the red line is temps.  The farther apart these are, the drier the air.  As you can see, we have plenty of moisture at the surface but is unseasonably dry at mid & upper levels.  You don't see a sounding like this very often this time of year in Jax.  This same upper level high pressure, by the way, is helping to draw moisture into the
Midwest spawning round after round of heavy rain-producing thunderstorm clusters:

The good news we'll see some rain on the First Coast in the coming days.  This evening scattered thunderstorms along I-16 in Georgia to about Savannah will move south & southwest with a storm or two possibly reaching as far south as Waycross, Nahunta & Brunswick.  The big upper level high pressure will slide west the next couple days so we should see widely scattered but locally heavy (seasonal) showers & storms Thu. afternoon area wide.  Then a tropical wave will move across Florida late Thu. into Fri.  As we get on the east side of the wave, moisture & "lift" will increase leading to showers & thunderstorms.  So the bottom line is a little more shower & t'storm activity for Thu. then much more Fri. into the weekend.  Bring on the rain -- my lawn needs it!  I washed my car this morning, so that should be the clincher!
Yesterday I was informed by our nighttime assignment editor about a story on "Inside Edition" about "Cat. 5 Netting System".  The company claims that a net of
sorts can be placed over a home, garage door, etc. & mitigate hurricane damage -- even if the storm is a cat. 5!  Sound too good be true?  Well, I'm sure curious & wonder the same thing.  Sounds like a good story for next year's hurricane special program.  Click here for info. on the netting system.
I overheard a cute little conversation this morning between my 4-year old & her friend.  I was in the study while the girls were playing nearby.  The friend: "Why isn't your dad at work?"  My daughter: "He goes to work in the afternoon".  Friend: "My dad watches him on t.v.".  Daughter: "Yeah.  He does the weather on t.v.  Have you seen him?  You should watch.  He does a good job."
My wife & I cracked up!  The cute part was my daughter being so complimentary at how well I did not so impressed because I was just on t.v.  I'm curious as to how a conversation like that would go in, say, 10 years or so(!).
